So, I felt bad because earlier cause I badmouthed Spitzer’s. I will forgive them for being too loud and for ID’ing my Dad…and even declare them a “thing”! I always end up going here after being like, How bout this place? How about this place? nah, not Spitzer’s...How about….? But then I go and it’s totally delicious. Reflecting on my history of dining there, I would have to say their “thing” is the Truffle Mac and Cheese. Remember what I said about chicken? Mac and cheese has also made a serious comeback as the item restaurants are trying to make fancier and better. This is one where you won’t be disappointed. I mean… those hips don’t lie. It has truffle. Additionally, it never ever tastes/feels/looks like it was sliced from a glob and heated up. Finally, it uses Panko breadcrumbs for crunch. I love Panko. If I sprinkled those delights on a bowl of dirt it’d add deliciousness. So Spitzer’s definitely has a thing…it’s just not the bloody mary.
Another one of those things about things...
In the interest of making my current period of unemployment as productive as can be, I am going to start a blog cataloguing one delicious food item in New York a day. After years and years of navigating the bountiful selection in this city, my mind is chock-full of ideas. And if I start to run out of them…well then it will be a reminder that I am not doing my duty as a food-lover, and am failing to eat out often enough in this amazing place (Although I can almost guarantee you that won’t happen).
I saw this one coming.
