Morandi has a lot of delicious round things, including meatballs with the added twist of berries on top...But the most amazing thing of all is their doughnut balls. Eating doughnuts always carries a twinge of irony, the way people say they love Dunkin Donuts coffee the best. But whether their popularity started as ironic or not, donuts (this post has spelled this thing multiple ways for your convenience) have turned into the must have dessert at even high-end places and a whole slew of donut shops have emerged. I really haven't done any sound exploration into the donut shop world (I mean when I lived in washington heights I frequented the corner place and theirs tasted pretty good... I also think I was a bit deprived of great restaurants and a lot tasted good). But I have had them at Dumont and Diner, and neither can compare to Morandi's. This place is pretty delicious all around, but if your tight on cash, just get a round of meatballs and the donuts ... No pun intended. (I know at least my sister is laughing).
